Another Coffee in Italia exclusive! We discovered this artisan coffee roaster recently and after sampling their products, knew we HAD to offer it. What makes this roaster different? Wood roasting! So most industrial roasters use gas heat but the Campetelli family has chosen to roast the traditional way. It gives them greater control in the roasting process and the resulting taste is noticeably different.
We also loved that this company, in business since 1982, is a small family run torrefazione (coffee roaster/shop). From father to son to daughter, their hands-on approach keeps the focus on quality.
Campetelli Caffè says:
The composition of Orobar is 80% Arabica coffee from Central America including Colombia, Guatemala and Brazil, and selected Robusta from Africa and Asia. This special blend was awarded by the International Institute of Coffee Tasters with the prestigious Gold Medal at the 2014 International Coffee Tasting.
The cream that covers the espresso prepared with Orobar is thick and of intense color, in the cup like hints of tobacco, licorice and hazelnut that accompany the good body, liqueur and velvety.
Mixture with a fairly persistent aftertaste of dark chocolate that invites you to combine Amaretti di Guarcino or almond puddings with dark sauce. In the evening, in winter, we prepare a warm digestive with espresso, Cuban rum and cinnamon.
Customer feedback from Jerome F: the Campetelli Caffe Orobar has a delicious, clean acidity with a wonderful aroma. I prepare the brew in my moka pot and enjoy it either as espresso or americano. Your blend is a fine product and I’m glad to have found it.
